About

Mark Franklin currently serves as Assistant Professor of Music at Oklahoma Baptist University, where he teaches applied piano lessons, group piano, and piano pedagogy. An active performer, Mark frequently appears in solo and collaborative engagements both within his local community and beyond. Mark has also undertaken specialized study in the field of music theory pedagogy.


Mark received a D.M. in Piano Performance at Florida State University, where he studied with Dr. Heidi Louise Williams, and also completed Specialized Studies in Music Theory Pedagogy. He holds a M.M. in Piano Performance from FSU, where he began his graduate studies with Dr. Joel Hastings. Mark also holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Wheaton College Conservatory of Music, where he graduated summa cum laude, studying with Dr. Daniel Paul Horn.
